Driveway repair in Northwest Indiana
Cracks, heaved slabs, spalling surfaces and sunken aprons. Indiana freeze-thaw is what breaks driveways, and water under the slab is what lets it.
What the job includes
- Establish why it failed — base washout, drainage, or freeze-thaw
- Repair or replace affected slabs rather than the whole drive where sound
- Regrade and compact the base so the new work has something to sit on
- Concrete replacement, or paver reset and re-sand
- Correct drainage and pitch away from the garage and foundation
- Control joints cut properly so the next crack is where we chose it
Signs you need this
- A slab that has dropped, leaving a lip at the garage or apron
- Surface flaking or spalling after a hard winter
- Cracks wide enough to take a finger, or growing yearly
- Water pooling on the drive, or running toward the house
How the work runs
You describe the job
Address, what needs doing, and when you would like it. No phone tag to get a person to come and look, and no account to create first — that happens when you submit.
You get a written quote
An itemised document, not a number over the phone. You read it, and you sign it online if you want it. Nothing starts before that signature.
You watch it happen
Each stage of the work is marked off and photographed by the crew as they go. You can see where the job actually is without asking anybody.
You keep the record
Materials, warranties, permits, photographs and cost stay attached to your property permanently — so the next owner, or your insurer, can see exactly what was done.
We work with a vetted network of licensed, insured contractors across Northwest Indiana.
Common questions
Can a cracked driveway be repaired, or does it all have to come out?
It depends whether the base failed. A crack in an otherwise flat, well-supported slab can be repaired. A slab that has dropped, rocks underfoot, or has cracks radiating from one point has lost its base, and anything laid over that will fail the same way. We look at whether it moves before quoting.
Why do driveways fail so fast in this part of Indiana?
Freeze-thaw cycling. Water gets into the surface and the base, freezes, expands, and does it again dozens of times a winter. Add road salt and you get spalling on top of cracking. Drainage and a properly compacted base are what decide whether a drive lasts ten years or thirty.
How long before I can park on new concrete?
Foot traffic after a day or two, cars after about a week, and heavy vehicles or a loaded trailer after a month. Concrete keeps gaining strength well past the point it feels hard, and driving on it early is a good way to crack work you just paid for.
